Sri Lanka has introduced a major facilitation for international tourism by allowing free tourist Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for Pakistani citizens under its updated travel policy.
Under this new arrangement, Pakistani travelers can obtain a short-term tourist ETA without any visa fee, making travel to Sri Lanka more affordable and accessible than before.
The initiative is part of Sri Lanka’s broader tourism expansion strategy for 2026, which includes around 40 eligible countries under its streamlined entry program.
With this update, travelers from Pakistan will also not be required to pay any visa-on-arrival charges, further simplifying the travel process for short visits.
Officials say the move is aimed at boosting tourism, improving regional connectivity, and encouraging more visitors to explore Sri Lanka’s growing travel destinations.
