Pakistan’s Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is moving toward a major service upgrade, planning a doorstep passport delivery system alongside a fully digital payment platform.
The initiative, reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa, includes finalized SOPs for home delivery of passports and upgrades to the mobile app for online applications, tracking, and user access.
A partnership with a private bank is also in progress to enable seamless digital payments for passport and immigration fees, pushing the system toward a cashless model.
Officials say the goal is clear: faster processing, reduced physical visits, and greater transparency in public service delivery.
If implemented effectively, this could become a key benchmark for how government services are delivered in Pakistan going forward.
